Pastor Matthew Kennedy

Matt’s role as Pastor is to oversee a number of the ministries undertaken by the Parkes Baptist Church. These include Mens Ministry (FORGE), Kid’s Church, Ignite (youth group for secondary school kids), Small Groups, the Morning & Evening Services, All-sorts dinner and the wider Pastoral Care and visitations of the church. Matt grew up on a farming property in country NSW just out of Hillston. He then spent seventeen and a half years in the banking sector, the majority of that time as a bank manager at different locations throughout country NSW. Matt took up an opportunity to leave the bank and feeling a call to ministry, completed a Bachelor of Ministries with the Melbourne School of Theology. When completed, Matt was called to be the Associate Pastor of Parkes Baptist Church in Country NSW. In 2021, Matt became the Pastor of our church. Matthew has a passion for the Bible and to see the lost saved.Matt has a wide variety of interests from reading and writing through to a keen interest in camping, fishing and hunting. Matt is married to Lyndell and they have three children: Shynae, Harrison and Indianna.
